Episode 22 – Robin Summers and Anne Azel

We had a great time recording this show! The drink, Death of a Virgin, was very tasty and Robin Summers joined us to discuss her debut novel, After the Fall (http://site.robinsummerswriting.com/). Our second selection, Iron Rose Bleeding by Anne Azel, was enjoyed less than we had hoped for but we’re waiting to find out if it was because it was the online version and not the published version. Let us know! Here are links to the online version and the published version: http://ausxip.com/fanfic19/ironrose1-4.html and http://www.pdpublishing.com/ironroseendpage.html. (Note: While at PD’s site, I read through a bit of the free excerpt and it was already MUCH better! I hope they release this one in ebook format soon. Andy and I both want to read it.)

We also selected the winners of the books autographed by Jae. A big congratulations go out to Ginny Gerth and Elaine Hardman!

For those of you who enjoy making the drinks, here’s the recipe for Death of a Virgin:

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1 1/2 oz peach schnapps
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • orange juice
  • 7-Up® soda
In a highball glass with ice, add vodka, schnapps, and lime juice. Add orange juice until the glass is half filled, then fill completely with soda. Stir well and serve.
We hope you enjoy the show and the drink as much as we did. Be sure to send in any comments you may have. We’d love to hear from you!

  1. 10-22 means “disregard.”

I love post-apocalyptic & end-of-the-world fiction too and have read a mess of it. “Alas, Babylon” is a great one. And I’m sure you’ve read “On The Beach.” Try “The Last Ship” by William Brinkley, or “Lucifer’s Hammer” by Larry Niven, or “Arc Light” by Eric Harry.
