Episode 41 – Radclyffe

On tonights episode Andy and Liz interviewed trailblazing author, editor, and publisher Radclyffe.

Liz enjoyed the signature drink the Lone Wolf (1 1/2 ounces of light rum, 1/2 ounce of Southern Comfort, 1/2 ounce of Triple Sec, 1/4 ounce of lemon juice. Combine with ice in a cocktail shaker, strain in a highball glass and serve with a maraschino cherry).

We covered the things that inspired Rad; her writing, the genesis of Bold Strokes Books, the mission behind the brand, the lesbian fiction hero, power dynamics and our favorite topic–sex.

Radclyffe generously agreed to a book give away. To win, submit you answer to the following no later than May 12th: What is the name of Francesca’s bartender/blood slave at noctunre? Be sure to email your answers to cocktailhour.show at gmail.com to be entered for the drawing.

Speaking of drawings, fellow podcaster Cas was the lucky winner of the autographed copy of Ali Vali’s Balance of Forces. Congrats to Cas! And be sure to check out her podcast, Xena & Ubers (http://xena-ubers.blogspot.com/)

  1. I loved hearing Radclyffe speak. I had to say that Tristan and Jet are one of my fave pairings. It didn’t even occur to me regarding the butch/butch pairing. I was so very involved into the characters and the story…that was not even a part of my thinking. I loved Dane and Kyle also. Again, didn’t even think about the b/b pairing. I Love Radclyffe’s work so very much. I own EVERY Book that she’s EVER written. I am a huge fan and I wanted to say that I truly enjoyed hearing what she had to say. Thanks Ladies for Having Rad on your Show!1

Thanks Rad for being on the Show!!

  2. Thank you for this. It is great!
I appreciate the in depth look at the process.
I would have been one of the readers not happy about you postponing Sophia and Niki!
    I loved Night Hunt.
