Episode 77 – Rachel Spangler

In what seems to be becoming an annual tradition, Rachel Spangler joins us from Women’s Week in P-Town. This time around, we’re talking about her newish book, Does She Love You?. We worked on having a no-spoiler show and I think we did a pretty good job of it.

Rachel is giving away a book, too! Since Andy loves the WWYF question for the give aways, that’s what we’re going to do with this one. Just post a comment letting us know which of Rachel’s characters you would want to have a one night tryst with and you’re entered to win! Please leave your comments no later than November 1st and we’ll pick the winner on the next show. Good luck!

Andy and I wish Rachel a super happy birthday filled with love and family and good times!

This episode runs a little long but that’s because there’s a special surprise added to the end. After the closing music. Happy birthday to you, too, Andy!

  1. What a great show! I am going to check out Rachel’s book!! Happy Birthday Rachel, I hope you had a great one!

Also, loved all the call ins for Andy’s birthday!! Happy Birthday buddy! I love ya!!

Ps Cole can sing!! I am going to go look her up now!!

      • Thanks Pixiey and Cheri! I actually have been hired to do the song for a few people which has resulted in a nice little side biz. I just copyrighted the song to add to my collection. Thanks for including me again this year. I really appreciate it! Peace~Love~& Rock’n’Roll!

  2. Not having seen the book yet, I don’t know how to spell her name, but I think I would like a one night tryst with Nic or Nick. If I don’t win the book I will have to break down and buy it because the show was SO GOOD at portraying the dark side.

  3. Woohoo! Thank you Susan for making your stories available and to Rachel for selecting moi (happy dance)!
I so enjoyed the conversation between you three – even if you had to use a do-over – and you managed to successfully keep the spoilers put off the conversation. Rachel, thanks for answering all my questions (yes Andy, I’m greedy, but I’m goood! 😛 ).

WWYF: I think in the case of this story it would likely be Davis Chandler, she sounds quite athletic and considerate. 😉 With regards to Rachel’s other books, I might have to make a serious play for Carrie Fletcher in “Learning Curve” – a socially active teacher ~ hot!

    • Ah – gotta bless “spellcheck” – bless it with the fleas of a thousand camels, that is!

“. . .- and you managed to successfully keep the spoilers out of the conversation.”

      [the-usually-erudite-bloo] :-/

PS. Andy, does this count for two entries then? 😉

  4. As always another great show. Now as for my WWYF, since I have only read Trails Merge, which I enjoyed, I would have to pick Campbell Carson.

Belated Happy Birthday to Rachel and Andy. Enjoyed hearing all the birthday call in wishes, was great.

  5. Great show. I’ve read all of Rachel’s books except Spanish Heart, loved all of them. Trails Merge was my favorite until I read Does She Love You. Those characters and their stories were more complex showing some of the ways self-image and life circumstances can cause almost anyone to make some really stupid mistakes. Having worked thirty plus years for big business I’ve seen how sales/marketing, travel, alcohol and everything else that goes along with that life can get even basically good people into trouble.

Fantastic book Rachel and I’m very glad you’re promising us more, can’t wait for the next one.

WWIF? Maybe Davis from Does She Love You…… Naw, think I need to stick with Campbell Carson.

Rachel and Andy, hope you had awesome birthdays!

    • I had a damn fine birthday, thanks. I had a really fun time recording the show; Cheri is always fun to work with and Rachel is a hoot.

  6. Loved the interview with Rachel, she does sound super nice – even while doing the WWYF challenge.

Looking forward to her new book. I have only read Spanish Heart of her other books and I would have to pick Lina (hot, Spanish, out and did I mention hot!).

    Keep up the great work.

    Mags
