  1. I wanted to start of by saying how much I love Merry Shannon’s books. I only started reading Merry Shannon a few weeks ago–I don’t know why I didn’t start reading lesbian romance stories sooner!. Sword of the Guardian was my first in the fantasy genre. I don’t think I can express how much Sword of the Guardian and Prayer of the Handmaiden mean to me. I haven’t started Branded Ann yet, but I’m very excited to! In both books I have read, I feel such a connection to all the characters, more than I have to any book in a very long time. They seem real, their struggles are relatable, and the story telling is incredible.

One of the scenes I have strong feelings towards is in Sword of the Guardian, when Talon and Shasta are discussing Kumire before bed, after Kumire comes onto Shasta at a party. Shasta says, “I can’t stand him. He’s so…well, if you were a girl would you want him kissing you?” And of course, Talon notices the irony when she answers as if she were a girl. I think this connects so well to me because, like Talon, some of my close friends and all of my family are unaware of my sexuality. I’m always saying stuff like “LGBTQA people…some lesbian or bi women…,” as if this is a group of people separate than me. This one statement strikes home, especially because Talon and Shasta are so close. Speaking to someone you are so close to, that you would do anything for, but who does not know rather important details…Well, this scene is so well done, I’m certain others in the closet connect similarly.

Thank you guys for an excellent episode!

    • Hi Megan! Thank you for the awesome comment. So happy you’ve enjoyed my stories! <3 The irony in that scene hits close to home for me, too. When you aren't in a position to be open with people you're close to, funny how often you end up in those odd, uncomfortable bits of conversation. I hope someday circumstances will allow you more freedom in being able to talk to the people around you! In the meantime, I love that SotG can help serve as reassurance that you're not alone. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Have a wonderful week!

  2. Thank you so much for inviting Merry Shannon to the show. I’ve been fans of her books, and I can’t wait for the upcoming series.. It’s always so full of suprises, rich in imagination, and the story flowing nicely.. But, what about ulrike baby? Will the prophecy become real? Aah can’t wait..

    • Hi Trin Chan! So happy to read your comment <3 Thank you for reading my books. I'm having a ton of fun with the series too, hoping to get that next installment out to you guys as fast as I can get it written. ๐Ÿ˜‰ There are big plans for Ulrike's baby, yes indeed… Ithyria will never be the same. ๐Ÿ™‚
