Episode 59 – Darcy Town


Darcy Town joined Andy and me – and Adrian! – to talk about the first book of her Morningstar series. Lots of fallen angels, archangels, punching, cussing, and drinking in this book. I wasn’t drunk but I did stammer a lot. I wanted to point that out. Yep, lots of stammering and Andy put those damn dreaded crickets in the show, too!

Darcy and I had a delicious drink called Caipirinha (ky-per-een-yah):

Cut 1/2 fresh lime into quarters. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar or 1/2 ounce of simple syrup. Muddle that and then add 2 ounces of Cachaça and fill with ice. Stir that shit up and drink it on down. Soooo good!

The drink that Andy had was She Danced with the Devil …and Woke Up Naked, Heartbroken, and With A Hangover. She didn’t care for it and wished she had picked the one we had. But if you want to give it a shot, here’s how you make it:

In a chilled cocktail glass.
1.5 oz Cachaça
0.5 oz Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur
0.25 oz Creme de Violette liqueur
1 dash Peychaud bitters
1 oz Prosecco
1 bunch champagne grapes (for garnish)

Stir first four ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with Prosecco and garnish with champagne grapes.

  1. This was a great podcast! Happy Birthday to both Adrian and Darcy! I think I am really looking forward to reading both Morningstar and her sci-fi series! My favorite angle…I mean angel is Kelly Garett. =)

  2. While I already picked Belial during the QA portion, I also have to add Helion as my favorite angel. You really need to read the other 2 books to truly understand why, but Helion kicks all kinds of ass and is just a wonderful being in multiple ways.

    No, I don’t need a book…I’ll leave that for Alena. 😉

  6. I LOVE BELIAL. I’ve loved all three books, and throughout all three, Belial has been my favorite. She’s very Xena’esque and I cheered for her, my heart broke for her, and I cried for her. That said, each angel in this cast has something that’s just very interesting and keeps you wanting to know more about them.
    Thank you Darcy for creating a wonderful adventure and putting this great twist on things.

      It’s always interesting for me to see who likes Belial. She seems to be a love her or hate her character. I’m happy to see she’s getting a lot of love here.
