Happy Halloween, Samhain, or Dia De Los Muertos! Whichever you celebrate, we hope you give a listen to the chat we had with author and blogger Andi Marquette. We started off with a discussion of the anthology she helped to put together, Skulls & Crossbones, and moved on to some of our favorite horror movies. One of our favorites was Hellraiser so I offered up a picture of my box.
While Andi M didn’t imbibe due to make up concerns, Andy D and I don’t like to let cocktail opportunities pass us by. Andy choked down her own, accidental, version of a Black Cat, which she dubbed the “Neutered Black Cat,” while I enjoyed a delish Bloody Mary. Mmmmm. I used a pretty easy, just thrown together recipe for the Bloody Mary: spicy V8, vodka, worchestershire sauce, some tabasco, and a few pepperoncinis tossed in. Here’s the proper way to make a Black Cat: in a tall glass with ice, add an ounce of vodka, an ounce of cherry liqueur, then fill with equal parts cranberry juice and cola. I didn’t take a picture of the Bloody Mary but here’s a picture of Andy’s drink:
