One of our very favorite people in the world, Bev Prescott, stopped by to talk about motivation. That’s definitely something that Andy and I both struggle with so we were thrilled to get some advice from Bev.
Before you start to listen, grab a pen and some paper to take a few notes. Bev gives us three steps that will help us get serious when it comes to getting, and staying, healthy.
Bev will be coming back to talk about healthy alternatives to not so healthy comfort foods and we’d love to know what some of yours are! You can either post here or, if you’re up for it, you can call in and leave your comments or questions in our voicemail box: 747-224-7763.
Take some time and give a listen. You’ll be happy you did.
Take care!

I just went to http://www.galleryleather.com/ and was so surprised about how reasonable the prices are! I thought they’d be much more expensive.
hells yeah, I’m all kinds of motivated now. Let’s do this!!!
Me, too! And Bev takin’ the gloves off really pushed me over the edge. I’m ready to own it!
Also hearing Bev say “fuck” was motivating in a different way. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her say that. Just one more reason to love Bev.
Also, the bitch slap. I feel like she bitch slapped me in the nicest way possible. Ain’t nobody gonna make me healthy but my damn self. I’m really good at owning my responsibilities in other ways, but I need to step up in this.
Can you take partial ownership of me, too? Thank you.
Fo’ sho’!
It did feel a little liberating to say the “f” word. Just let me know whenever you ladies need a little motivational “bitch slap.” 🙂
Rock on! We’ll send out special “bitch slap requests”! I think I need Microsoft paint for that…

[…] Cocktail Hour – March 13, Bar Rag with author Bev Prescott. Bev talks about how to stay motivated when it comes to health and nutrition. Check out her biceps, she definitely knows a thing or two. Listen to that episode HERE. […]
I have lost a lot of my motivation…been working on that lately. I am still needing to find some healthy easy to make recipes that have more than a couple of servings seems to be my problem. I hate to cook too, but I deal with that. This is really good. When I want something sweet and strawberries or those cuties are in season, I eat those!!
Are you looking for some crock-pot type recipes, Pix?
Hey Pixiey, hopefully, we can come up with some ideas that might work for you. Please let us know if you have any good ones to share as well. Take care!
TJ and I both have our journals and I’ll start mapping out my journey today.
Thanks for this pep talk! Last year I successfully lost a large amount but around the holidays I got to the “fuck it” stage and haven’t been able to get back on my plan. This motivates me to “own-it” so I’m off to listen to the next podcast while I’m on the treadmill. I am very much looking forward to The Barbell shows!
Hey Lisa,
Have a great work out on the treadmill. Please let us know if there are any particular topics you’d like to discuss.
