Whoo! This episode is action packed – just like the author’s books. Cari Hunter is known for writing books that you just can’t put down. Hopefully, you’ll find this podcast just as exciting, but completely maiming free.
Cari joined me and Andy, and special lurker guest Nancy Jean, to talk about her newest release, Desolation Point, a thriller set, primarily, in the Cascades. And I’m not joking when I say this book is action packed.
We’re giving away a copy of Desolation Point and a copy of Cari’s first book, Snowbound (which is featured on episode 47). All you have to do is post a comment with your favorite part of the podcast, or something else interesting, and let me know if you’re interested in Snowbound, Desolation Point, or both. The copy of DP has already been signed by Cari so no further personalization is possible. Only comments posted on or before May 17th will be eligible for the drawing.
If you’ve not read Desolation Point yet, have no fear! This is a spoiler free show.

That Shandy is epic.
It was quite tasty. And fizzy. Especially through the straw!
Hi all!
Great show! I really enjoyed it 😀
Loved snowbound Cari great book.
My favourite part of the show was definitely the titles starting with tumble 😀 so hilarious!
I haven’t read desolation point yet because I’m going to the Nottingham author fest, so I might get the paperback book there, so hopefully you can sign it then Cari if I’m not lucky enough to win LOL 🙂
but I really want to read it so I’m tempted to get the kindle edition.
Well put me up for DP anyway an i will see if I’m lucky.
Looking forward to June now Cari, can’t wait to meet you! It’s my first time goin to the fest so I’m really excited.
So happy you enjoyed the show, Carrie! If you loved Snowbound, you’ll definitely enjoy Desolation Point.
Good luck in the drawing!
Carrie – if you win the copy of DP, bring it to Nottingham and I’ll pop your name in it (it’s signed but it’s being sent out from the US so I can’t personalise it!) It’ll be great to meet you at the fest, we should be posting a feature all about it on UK LesFic tomorrow 🙂
Cool! 🙂 I’m super excited for it! Not long now 😀
Fun show this week.
I bought Snowbound after Cari was on your show last year & I really liked it. Sounds like Desolation Point is another good action packed read. Please add me to the drawing for DP.
ps, yum cheese grits – I’m a southerner too…
I am yet to be convinced by grits. Andy did offer to send me some “proper ones” though, so I’ll never say never!
I love Leinenkugel summer shandy!!!
I loved the show. I had not read anything by Cari before, this was a fun and exciting read. I loved that you had Nancy Jean as a helper! She cracked me up! I am really happy to hear there is a sequel coming up from this one! I have Snowbound on my list!
If I win, I would like to have Snowbound signed if possible please. It would match my signed Desolation Point copy nicely!
NJ taught me everything I ever needed to know about chicken fried steak 😉 She’s a very helpful helper.
I thought the show was very good. At times I had a hard time hearing Cari. Would love a signed copy of Snowbound.
Sorry, Pat, that was probably due to me mumbling into my beer and forgetting that – with my accent – I needed to ENUNCIATE clearly.
That was very fun to listen to! One part of the podcast that I really enjoyed was the discussion of American versus British English. I would love to win a copy of either Snowbound or Desolation Point.
Grits are awful! I live in Florida and can’t stand them.c
Loved the episode.
Snowbound would be my choice.
Don’t let Andy hear you say that, she will kick your arse 😉
I’m catching up here and hoping I haven’t missed the cutoff for the giveaway. I’m further behind on my reading than I’d like, so I haven’t read either of Cari’s books yet (so I’d happily accept either). I will definitely get to reading them both though!
Fun show, guys. I’m going to side with Andy on the grits… good stuff, along with fried mush, which is even better.
